Episode 1.2
16 October 2018 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Jonah is going to be known as the man in a pale suit going by this second episode. Hong Kong is a busy hot city, it is going to get dirty.

Jonah believes he heard a gunshot in his wife's telephone message. Luckily for him when he showed it to the police they cleaned up the sound file for him and took away the gunshot sound. The police tell him it was all in his mind. Obviously the police are corrupt especially as Megan's body which has gunshot wounds disappears from the morgue.

The lady from the British Consulate, Sally who has been liaising with Jonah has problems of her own. Some confidential documents have been used by a journalist. It seems her boyfriend has been selling documents for money. However the person he has been blackmailing might have got to the boyfriend.

David an ex policeman does not seem interested that Jonah believes that Megan might have been murdered. He does make his own enquiries though. David also neglected to tell Jonah that he and Megan had a daughter, Lau.

Jonah is shocked when Lau confronts him. However Lau helps him by taking Jonah rto a secret flat that Megan had, a place where she kept important papers and documents.

As it is a conspiracy thriller, everything and everyone is connected somehow. Nothing is there by chance or accident. So you just think all the characters are being manipulated or going to be manipulated somehow. I find it rather off putting as real life is not like that by I guess the producers will put it down to the economy of screenwriting.

There are more lovely location shots of Hong Kong as the writer stretches out the plot.
