What Did I Watch
17 January 2020
This "documentary" was all over the place so much that I have no idea what the point was by the end. It started out talking about food, then blaming the government, then blaming medication. My favorite part was the "handicapped" woman who was paid, one day she couldn't walk, then miraculously a week later, she was no longer on meds and walking. I call bullcrap on this one sided film.

I wouldn't recommend this film, as it is only one sided. If the director/writer had at least followed one person's journey from meat to veganism, it may have made more sense. However, the director of the film looked so unprofessional on camera, he could take a few pointers from Michael Moore!

Sends Mixed Messages
7 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As good as the film is,and it does have a heartwarming story, it does send mixed messages. In the story, Hannah lives with her grandmother and doesn't know her dad. She's been told by her grandmother that he's deceased, due to drug use. Ok, that's fine to protect someone you love.

However, the character of John Harrison and other dogooders go behind the grandmother's back. After John meets a dying man in the hospital and realizes the girl he coaches is the daughter of this man. Intervening in others personal lives isn't always the best way to go.

And for Kendrick to make a film that shows blatant disregard for others values isn't very Christian. He and the other dogooders should have consulted the grandmother before betraying her trust with Hannah. Both sides wanted to protect Hannah, but in the end did either help her more?

One of the Great Disney Classics
24 December 2019
A true classic animated film from the Disney studios released in 1955, Lady and the Tramp is genuine, original and heartfelt. The story is paced well and the animation is great. Along with 1961s 101 Dalmatians, it is one of my favorite films about dogs (and I'm not even a dog person).

It did have a sequel produced in the early 2000s focusing on Scamp, Lady and Tramp's son. The original though, is the best version you'll see, and that includes the abysmal 2019 live action remake. One of my favorite characters in this film has to be Si and Am, Aunt Sarah's evil Siamese cats.

Expected More From Disney
24 December 2019
When I heard about this film coming out, I was really excited about seeing it, as I was with the live action Lion King and Aladdin. However, much like the 2019 version of The Lion King, it was more disappointment.

Why did Disney change so much of the story from the original animated classic? To appease everyone? Well, it didn't work, not everyone was appeased. First of all, the human cast was not bad, it was actually bearable. However, my issue is with what they did to Jock and Aunt Sarah's cats. Abysmal to say the least.

Disney, you can do better.

Early Christian Childhood Series
24 December 2019
This is such a great series from Roma Downey, Monica from Touched by an Angel. The animation is very bright and brilliant, and the Christian stories are wonderful. In this volume, you will learn about God's love for animals of the Earth.

Honestly, I feel this is the best of the three, and it definitely holds the attention of children and some adults. It's of great educationa value within the church. It's really too bad they only made three.

Spectacular Film
24 December 2019
This film by Danny Boyle was truly amazing. The premise was questionable at first, but after you get into the story, it's very interesting. What if no one had ever heard of The Beatles songs? Crazy!!

I especially liked the way the story ended, and the surprise character. Yesterday will blow your mind, it's that good. It'll definitely be a contender at the Oscars in 2020.

Awesome Christian Series
24 December 2019
Roma Downey, the angel from Touched by an Angel has brought these wonderful children's DVDs to us as both the director and producer. The cartoons are great for Sunday school or church in general.

I only wish there were more than three of them available, but I guess we should be blessed we have the ones we have. Each DVD is aimed at children to teach them about God and his love for us all, including animals.

Wonderful for Early Learning
24 December 2019
This series is a great tool for use with Sunday school children. Roma Downey, who we all know as Monica the angel from Touched by an Angel truly is a gift from above for bringing this Christian series to life. She serves as both a director and producer, talented indeed.

I was unaware of this series until just recently when I came across a DVD at big lots. I use this series at church with younger kids and special needs children in Sunday school. I only wish there was more than 3 episodes.

How Murray Saved Christmas (2014 TV Special)

Hilarious Christmas Special
5 December 2019
Recently came across the DVD of this special at a Big Lots store, and being into Christmas and obscure films, so I bought it. I watched this thinking it was going to be another run of the mill bland Christmas special, but it wasn't, it was great. It rhymed throughout, much like a Dr. Seuss book, and had some hilarious rhymes.

This special was shown on NBC originally, and it is family friendly. No profanity is used, but there is slapstick violence. The voice cast is great, including Jerry Stiller as Murray and Jason Alexander as the doctor; both of which had starred on Seinfeld. Dennis Haysbert (or the State Farm guy) narrates the tale.

Great Documentary on 9/11
5 December 2019
The Cross at Ground Zero is a story from 9/11 that doesn't get much attention from the media these days. This is an in-depth story of the rescue workers who found a perfect cross, formed from the fallen World Trade Center buildings. The film explores the faith of the men and women who were there after the tragedy, and their devotion to God.

Some rescue workers even questioned their own faith after the tragedy, asking, "how can this happen?" The cross at ground zero was what allowed the rescue workers to keep going. It was their inspiration to go on, and it was the answer they needed.

For a Sequel, it is Very Good
26 November 2019
With Morgan Freeman returning as the narrator, how could this film fail? It was surprising to find out that Disneynature had a hand in creating this film. Just too bad it didn't get a theatrical release in the U.S. Instead, it was a Hulu exclusive.

And furthermore, is not available on DVD in the United States as of this writing. That's too bad, because a great many people will miss this gem. If you have the means, try to get a copy of the region 2 DVD.

Should Have Discussed The 1st Films Mistakes
26 October 2019
What this sequel should have focused on more than anything is the fact that so much of what Al Gore the politician said was going to happen, never came to light. By 2013, we were not seeing sea levels rise, in fact, NASA proved that the ice caps that Gore predicted and said were melting, actually grew larger. The "facts" in these documentaries are made to scare the masses that follow Gore without a thought of their own.

Gore in-turn, does exactly what he tells everyone else not to do, wasting fossil fuels by flying his private jet all around the world to tell everyone without a private jet just how they're killing the world by using so much fossil fuel!! He's such a hypocrite and so far from being a scientist, he makes Bill Nye look like Albert Einstein! Lets not forget the number of countries backing out of the 2016 Paris Climate Agreement that was made such a big deal by Gore. The number one country for pollution is not the United States, but in reality is China. That's a fact!

Before Dexter....There Was a Cabin by the Lake
23 October 2019
Years before Dexter showed up on TV, we were presented with a somewhat similar story; a writer who kills his victims to get story ideas. Judd Nelson is perfect in his role as Stanley, he's creepy and believable. Too bad this was only a tv movie, it could've been bigger.

It's definitely not a family film, as it's rated R, but it's great to watch around Halloween or just a late night horror flick. Could be traumatic for children if they were to watch. However, adults who love horror and thriller films will enjoy.

Great Made for Tv Thriller
23 October 2019
Bought the DVD at Dollar General in the Halloween assortment, not expecting much since it's an Asylum film; but it was not bad. Jamie Kennedy is very believable as a psychopath, one of his best roles I might add. He was extremely convincing. It really was a great little made for tv movie.

If you get a chance to catch this on tv or find in a discount bin, it's worth the 90 minute runtime. Of all the films that Asylum puts out, this is truly one of the best I've seen. The acting was not terrible either, in fact it was pretty good. Great thriller.

WWE Studios? In a French Language Film?
17 October 2019
I found this movie on DVD at a local Dollar Tree, saw it was WWE, so I bought it. After I was watching though, I realized the film has been dubbed into English from the original French version. Dubbed movies are never done well to begin with when they're low budget. Other than that, the English dialogue wasn't too awful!

However, I don't know how WWE Studios got mixed up with this movie. It barely has anything to do with WWE other than mentioning some of the wrestlers, like John Cena.

Definitely not for kids, the language is at least equal to PG-13, if not worse.

Not as Bad as People Make it Out to Be
17 October 2019
The Jungle Book: Mowgli's Story is not a bad movie. It's Disney, so there is a threshold of what to expect already; but its a story meant for kids. Some call this feature a career killer for it's cast, but almost everyone in the cast is a well known name, like: Richard Kind, Fred Savage, Kathy Najimy, and Eartha Kitt.

No, Mowgli's Story is nothing like the 1994 live action Jungle Book, but that's what made it special. I am not even sure it is connected to the 1994 film, except for maybe by title only.

My only wish is that Disney will release the film on DVD in the United States (they already have in Australia, but in PAL format).

Such a Strange Film, But Worth a Watch
17 October 2019
Sure, Escape From Tomorrow is a strange film, but it will hold your attention. It takes the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland/Walt Disney World, and turns it upside down into the creepiest and scariest place on Earth! The film-making aspect from the director, producers and actors was really good. This was definitely a hard film to shoot with the sparseness of the parks and such; not to mention being constantly watched by Disney security at both parks.

I don't know how they pulled it off! I am truly amazed that this film even exists at all; and that Disney is okay enough with the outcome that they include the title in their "Disney A to Z" online encyclopedia. For such an obscure and strange film, Escape From Tomorrow is a must see.....if you can find it!

Seemed Forced at Times
14 October 2019
Overall, this is something kids might enjoy. I say might because its the Winnie the Pooh characters in a live-action world. The acting is not the best, even; Ewan McGregor might as well have phoned in his dialogue. It was like he didn't wanna be in the movie, except for the big paycheck. Adults on the other hand might be put-off by this movie, because of its childish nature. Therefore, this film is going to have a small niche audience.

I think the CGI could have definitely been better, as well as the writing and acting. The acting was almost unbearable, and it drags the film out and makes it feel longer than it really is. The screenplay and dialogue felt like it was just thrown together on a half-drunken weekend. The story was not well thought out at all. And the CGI could have been made to seem more believable, it looked so fake, Mary Poppins from 1964 is still better quality of live-action and animation!

An OK Follow Up to Endgame
14 October 2019
Spider-Man: Far From Home was an okay MCU film, but I think the third phase would have ended better with Endgame as the cliffhanger. The story here was fairly well written. The action scenes were above par. And I especially liked seeing Jon Favreau reprise his role as Happy. However, its just not the same without RDJ as Tony Stark.

In all honesty, I think the first Spidey film, "Homecoming" was much better. It was well paced, compared to the slow pace in Far From Home. I was also hoping to see more characters from the MCU in this film. I hope that if a third Spider-Man film in the continuity of the MCU is released, its better paced and contains more of the MCU.

Peter Jackson Wasn't Nominated?
30 September 2019
I was surprised to learn after seeing this film that Peter Jackson, the director was not nominated for an Academy Award. It's a great film, well directed and craftily written. For a 135 minute feature, this film holds your attention. And Stanley Tucci was great in this film; he was nominated but didn't win!

Outside of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit films, this is one of Peter Jackson's best film adaptations by far. A sad, yet intriguing story about a young girl who is murdered and watches over the killer and her own family. The ending was depressing, I won't say why, so that you'll watch for yourself.

Pretty Funny No Matter What Side You're On
30 September 2019
No matter your political views and beliefs, this film from David Zucker is pretty darn funny. Watching this film, it was great to see all the cameos from many, many actors. I was especially surprised to see Leslie Nielsen in the film The best part though, the Michael Malone character is almost a spot-on look-a-like to Michael Moore, which this film parodies.

Don't watch this film if you can't take some jokes, and they're at the expense of both political parties. Zucker is known for making comedy films, and in no way was this film made to represent facts. Watch the film the way it was intended, have a few laughs and love your country.

Wow! Amazing and Captivating
23 September 2019
Like I said when I reviewed the last film, Infinity War, the Avengers seem to get better with each film (and longer it seems). The Russo brothers have become great storytellers over the last few years, and have been great at keeping the story secret. This film is the culmination of more than twenty films over the past eleven years, and it is extremely epic!

There are some twists and turns in this film that you might not see coming, but are essential to the Avengers story-line. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll love this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I definitely see this film up for multiple Academy Awards in 2020, maybe even Best Picture; its that good.

Better than Expected
4 September 2019
If you're seeing this film and expecting something spectacular like Casablanca or Citizen Kane, that's not going to happen. This film isn't meant to be great, but made for those who like something a bit scary. It really isn't too bad of a film once it gets going.

It starts out slow and stumbles a bit, that's true, but in the second half it picks up. It gets interesting once the characters are inside Area 51. From there, it's hard to look away, not knowing what to expect. It was definitely different, but not great and not terrible either.

One of the Last Great Disney Adventure Films
4 September 2019
Much like the films of the 1960s, The Bears and I has that same nostalgia feeling. Later films wouldn't feel the same. The narration adds to the value in my opinion. Very similar to Charlie the Lonesome Cougar in a few ways. Patrick Wayne was great as Bob Leslie, the man who fosters the bears.

I suppose you have to be a fan of the Disney narrative to truly enjoy this picture. Only a true loyal fan can see that this isn't a bad movie. It's what we've come to expect from Disney of the time period, family oriented stories with a touch of class and heart.

The Andy Griffith Show (1960–1968)

Wholesome Family Fun
9 August 2019
They sure don't make shows like this anymore. It was wholesome, the characters were driven and sometimes politically incorrect, but nevertheless, it was a great show for the whole family to enjoy. Andy, Barney and Opie were all great characters we would come to admire over the course of the show. Don Knotts happened to be the breakout actor on the show, playing Barney Fife. He left the show in about the sixth season to pursue feature films.

The only character who never seemed like she'd warm up to anyone is Aunt Bee, but maybe because in real-life she hated the show, working with Andy Griffith and Ron Howard. The show was a starting place for Ron Howard as well, as he eventually became a renowned director/producer in his own right, but he has never forgotten his roots.
