Gisaengchung (2019)
Perfectly done!
At first sight I gave 10, but being close to the end of the movie I was thinking..."no, no 10, but 8", because I doubted how they could miss what was with Moon-gwang, and then the story mentioned what was with her and I moved back to 10. :) The whole concept is great, from the story, music and photography to acting and style. Next to that is there are many genres in one. Also, in several moments it drives you to think about many things how would you react, gives mockery and shows the human nature, essentially.
Sometimes Always Never (2018)
Still and clear photography!!!
It is a joy to watch it. First, because of its style of shooting and second, because of its clear and rich colors. It looks as an brilliant school art, designed precisely. On the other hand it is a good story, done in some traditional and emotional way, and who is playing in. Bill Nighy is as always excellent, elegant and charming.
Holmes & Watson (2018)
Shame
It was a ridiculously spending too much money for making a garbage. Probably the director/writer Cohen tried to mock tv show "Sherlock", especially for those mathematical geometrical shapes and counting answers, but it doesn't mean anything to us, viewers. Maybe the only acceptable part of the movie, which is a very small one, is that one where they are singing, but even the lines of that song aren't worth listening. So, the whole movie is nothing.
The Unorthodox (2018)
Great pictures of a different characters
This movie has a good rhythm of a camera's movement, including that the picture is great! The music written by Ophir Leibovitch is fantastic and gives that rhythm.
It is amusing and gives us some view of the political world in Israel, how it was and how it is.
Glass (2019)
Suffering
Shyamalan should consider rewriting the script and make a deep researching of comic-books and their characters. We don't see some connection between his 3 main characters, but at the end it seems that there is. Why then the name "Glass" if it isn't transparent in any angle?! During watching we don't know who is good and who is bad in it? Do we see killings or it is just our imagination that there were some, but not for real?! However, there are a several misses in the story, but as I already wrote, Mr. Shyamalan should think about rewriting the script. :/
Serenity (2019)
I thought it will be a good one, but...
At the first sight it gave me some picture it will be the story as The Man and the Sea. After that appearance of Ann Hathaway in an ugly version of fake blonde drove me to thinking it will be a filthy sex. Even the scenes with McConaughey's naked bottom sent some doubt it will be there those dirty things, but no. It was so boring and empty that it wasn't worth watching. The conclusion at the end of the movie is that it is a simple story about father-son love.
Inherent Vice (2014)
Too long and no plot
I was expecting to see something worth my time, because it is Paul Thomas Anderson's work, but noooo. I tried to understand what is its plot, but during watching my interest has fallen. However, there are also many good actors and actresses, but unfortunately it came up that it is empty. It's going too long and I hardly endured till the end.
Amistad (1997)
Saw it again after some years...
...and I've changed my decision in rating.
It would be better if Anna Paquin as Queen Isabella II of Spain learned to speak Spanish. Like this, to speak American English is insulting!
Steven Spielberg wasn't original as in many other cases. He should learn from Mel Gibson how to make original and to hear people when they speak and how they speak.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Very bad makeup, prosthetic teeth, wigs, hairstyles...
Last year I refused the ticket to watch it in the cinema. The reason was that I couldn't understand decision of Brian May, who is by vocation my colleague, how he accepted that hollow story about them and also, that so bad picture of them?! Now I watched it on hbo channel and see that I was right. If I was in his shoes no way that I would accept it, no matter how much money someone would offer. Anyway, the picture of Freddy or better to say Rami Malek is pretty much feminized, prosthetic teeth were very bad done and looks fake from every angle waching. Ben Hardy as Roger Meddows Taylor is too much baby face for that role and he looks as baby, really. Ridiculously! Hairstyle of everyone is so funny and unconvincing. Why this movie is watchable? Because of the music. That can't be fake.
Venom (2018)
Not bad and very amusing
At start it is a bit unconvincing, especially in that part between Anne and Eddie. It looks really fake and in some way they were as ...we have to show that we are pair and we are doing it because we have to... No emotions, nothing, no humor...and I was skeptical. Happily after some 15min. it moved us to the right direction, with some tensions, thriller moments, and finally with upcoming good humor. So, the story isn't bad and mostly it is very amusing.
Chamboultout (2019)
I laughed a lot
Really, I laughed a lot and that means that movie is fine. Didn't expect too much, but I expected to hear a good humor and that happened. Every character is unique and shows that everyone makes a certain dose of mistakes driven by a different questions and situations. From my point of view the best of them are characters of JP, Valérie, Loïc and Arnaud Lubert.
Red Sparrow (2018)
Unbelievable stupidity
I've tried to see it at once, but no, I couldn't. Then few days after again was on tv and I've watched from there where I stopped. It is really annoying to listen american English with some accent that it would sound as Russian. I suppose it is made for stupid people, who can listen that. I don't speak Russian, but I don't like missing point. Don't know, maybe it is American way, as they made now tv show "Chernobyl" in some English. How come that people in Ukraine spoke English, all of them, in that time when that happened, 1986? Maybe now everything is possible when NATO bought that country some 20 years after that disaster, but Russia isn't bought yet, and how come they all speak american English in that stupid movie?! :)))
Trouble with the Curve (2012)
Disappointment
Maybe the better title would be "Trouble with the Cliche"?! Anyway, the story is hollow, that it doesn't give us the clear message, especially when speaking about relations between the father and his daughter. Timberlake's role is nothing, but nothing and what it means in that story? Also, there are already seen Clint's moments, which we saw in the other movies.
No God, No Master (2013)
The movie that has a good message
As I've read this film was made in 2009 and coundn't found a distributor for a longer time, a five years. It's not surprising at all, because it shows the system how it was, and actually how it is today. Also, it shows the historical figures of USA, as were J. Edgar Hoover and Mitchell Palmer, and the real picture of the Democratic Party, mostly financially supported by Rockefeller. At the end we can read conclusion what happened and what are some intentions to be done, and to be honest, it makes sense. David Strathairn's portrayal of anarchy fighting detective, William J. Flynn, is good, but for that role it would be better that he got some weight.
Enemy (2013)
Pointless
I really don't understand what writers wanted to say and what director wanted to show. What exactly is a theme?
The Women (2008)
What is this?
This is the picture of actresses of whom some have done a kind of streching to look younger 10-20 years, but while looking them you think their skin will burst in a second or the picture of those who didn't do anything, but still look good?! It is really pointless to watch it.
American Heist (2014)
Poor
It isn't about its cast. The point is that the story is so poor, especially the ending.
Eliza Graves (2014)
Disaster
According to the facts that in the cast of the movie are great names and that the story in based on the story of Edgar Allan Poe, I was expecting to see wow movie, but this is soooo hollow starting from the screenplay. There are many missing points in it and I am not sure that director read it properly in the right way, with understanding and connecting things.
Liberation Day (2016)
Not bad, but...
I saw it now... As I wrote in this headline, it isn't bad, but there is something confusing in it. Is that the movie about one unusual trip and performance of the Slovenian band or is it about the life in North Korea? However, it is interesting and surprising to see that they were invited to come as a guests and also that Boris(think Boris said that) says "we are the children of Tito's Yugoslavia and now we are orphans". From North Korea's side looking, there is just what is allowed to be known and how their leader shows to foreigners only what he wants to be seen. I guess the true message is "All art is subject to political manipulation", what is the opening quote of the film.
Ladies in Black (2018)
Beautiful ladies in black
I guess it is Beresford's return to the top and he made something what isn't made in Hollywood's factory. Love to see for me unknown actors and actresses, next to very well known Julia Ormond and Vincent Perez. The screenplay is witt and filled with details unknown for those who know nothing or very little about some of European nationalities and languages, as about Serbia and Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbo-Croatian language. It is a good picture of the characters who grew up in a different environments. Beautiful ladies make this movie go around.
Stan & Ollie (2018)
Pure and simple!!!
It is very sweet and deeply touching story about two film star legends, comedians. Beautiful pictures, brilliant make up and costumes, excellent dialogue! John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy shows how much is worth as an actor, never better! Steve Coogan is magnificent as Stan Laurel. Both of them returned us in some nostalgia, giving us the smile, laugh and also tears. There's plenty to say about it, but enough will be, GO and SEE IT! You won't regret.
Hotel Mumbai (2018)
A good action
Although its runtime is 125min., it isn't boring. On the contrary, it is full of actions. Everything is nice showed and tension in happenings is present all the time. Yes, it is action next to that it is drama and thriller. Probably some of the characters who are in that story are fiction, or maybe they aren't?! For character of the chef we know that he is real and that he was there, but for the all the rest of them, we don't know. Whether those characters are fiction or not, those Mumbai attacks happened in real, in 2008, and it is worth seeing their pictures in this movie.
His Master's Voice (2018)
My space
I like it. Someone in review wrote who sees it, he/she will be out of this kind of fiction. Well, I am a longer time in it, because by vocation I am researcher's physicist(by university) and also mathematician(by gymnasium). If I am not, never would study those subjects. Péter is the person who wants to know about his roots, and also understand him from that side, cause I am doing the same(about my Hungarian descents, 1/4). In his finally finding father we see one scientist, who next to loving the science loves music, founds meaning of evolution of a human being in a binary numeral system by knitting blankets. This movie is very clear and filled with energy, being fiction or not.
Posljednji Srbin u Hrvatskoj (2019)
A good laugh :)
The picture of the people who were sometimes ago a members of YU and now live in a separated small and irrelevant countries for a global leaders, and still are driven by the influence of their eternal problems. In some moments it looks like a British movie "Shaun of the Dead" and in one scene reminds us on exYugoslavian "Pretty Village, Pretty Flame", when we hear the song of the old Yugoslavian band "Indexi", She threw everything down the river(Bacila je sve niz rijeku). Anyway, it gives us a good laugh.
Green Book (2018)
My predictions for getting BAFTA for supporting role and for all three Oscars were right!!!
Even I haven't seen it I had my predictions just by watching trailers. However, today after seeing it I can say it is fabulous. Also, the weights of both roles(of Mortensen and Ali) are equal and should measure in the same category. They are great in showing us two men from a different environments, the way of life, education, family, not only different by the color of skin, and who taking by the certain circumstances accepted each other the way they are.
